Race Director’s Cut

Who are you?

I have been running with regularity since 2009, with a focus on higher mileage events starting in 2012. That year I finished my first marathon, 50k and 50 mile. In 2013 I added my first 100 mile, completing Pine to Palm in Ashland, OR. This year will mark my third return to Ashland in September to make another run of Pine to Palm. I love the challenges and rewards the ultramarathon distance has given me, and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for the sport and giving back to the ultrarunning community as a race director.

What are your favorite places to shop for gear?

I’m a huge fan of Road Runner Sports and Running Warehouse for specialty online shopping, and Amazon.com can always fill in the gaps. For local shopping, nothing beats Chico’s very own Fleet Feet Sports.

What running apps/websites do you use?

For many years I used my phone and RunKeeper, but I finally bit the bullet and got a used Garmin 305. I do enjoy an upgrade, so next on the list is a newer Garmin 220 or 620. I’m also a big believer in programs that will donate to charity while I do nothing but the exercise I was going to do anyway. To that end, I upload all my runs to the Plus3Network.

How can I look you up?
